ABOUT OUR HERALDS We re-create heralds from defunct railroads of yesteryear. All of our heralds have been checked for trademarks and all rights that we know of never existed or have been terminated (considered "dead" by the USPTO). Each herald is meticulously re-drawn in editing software on Apple workstations. We have 20 years of graphic design experience going to good use. Most of our heralds are vector art, or "line art." This means it's turned into a graphic that can be enlarged to the size of a football field and the quality would remain the same. Some heralds were hand-drawn and we keep the integrity of them by doing the highest-resolution scan possible. Unlike other sellers, we only produce heralds that are extinct, and their trademark rights never existed or have been terminated (considered "dead" by the United States Patent & Trademark Office). We do a thorough search of each herald for "LIVE" trademark status. If it comes to our attention that a herald is actually registered with the United States Patent & Trademark Office, we will discontinue that product, or secure licensing to legally sell it. If you have a favorite railroad from the past, or any kind of retro herald that you'd like to see in our store, please let us know and after we check for trademark clearance, we'll make the herald available for order on any garment we offer.
